One year ago, a milestone birthday sparked a cycling dream among Aqualink members. Fuelled by post-spin coffee chats, a group of fellow enthusiasts envisioned a birthday celebration like no other – a cycling holiday in France! This July, that dream came true.  A party of six; four Aqualink members and two other cyclists, jetted off to a 10-day French escapade.

Led by a British MTB champion cyclist, the all-female team pedalled through picturesque Lyon, indulging in easy to moderately challenging rides amidst historic landscapes. Balancing exercise and fun, they relished wine tastings, exquisite meals, and French delicacies, including dozens of pain au chocolat. Highlights included a cooking class with Chef Fred and traversing the roads of Beaujolais and Côte d’Or's vineyards.

Despite challenges like a rainy Day 7, the cyclists embraced the journey, exploring Avignon's Palais du Papes and the iconic Pont du Gard. Day 8 brought the ultimate test – conquering Mont Ventoux's slopes. Four were able to conquer to the Chalet, and two of them to the windy summit, the experience heightened their appreciation for Tour De France's rigours. After the final day of riding, the adventure culminated with a memorable farewell dinner back in Lyon.
