A member’s poetic ode to Aqualink

Published: Friday 01 Sep 2023

Aqualink member, Tim, kindly shared his original poem, inspired by his participation in the Seniors Personal Training. His poem creatively describes the day-to-day activities of Aqualink, and in doing so, shares the community created and maintained at Aqualink.

Seniors' swim class

Aqualink

Armed with red towels, drink bottles and mat

Our intrepid brigade goes where it’s at

There’s Lee, Rob, Rog, Cheryl, T&T

Aqualink Box Hill is where we will be.

The place is pristine and the staff are the best

All smiles and welcoming, with Deb on the desk.

To Sam’s playlist, quads burn, shoulders ache

Balance, pump iron and step with ne’er break

Boxing, cycling, weights, core, water even

Never a dull moment, the variety is legion!

At session’s end, relief in sight at last

We gossip to Melbourne’s best coffee, a blast!

With jelly legs and aching glutes we wend

homeward we trek for our muscles to mend.

Until the next session, our aim to look sleek

Fitness and fun, laughter and cheek

Sam’s sessions are surely not for the meek.

Thanks Aqualink, Sam and Will each our trainer,

Seniors’ wellbeing paramount, for us a no brainer!
