We're thrilled to announce that our very own Sam Hagger has been selected as a Finalist for the prestigious 2025 AusActive Awards in the Personal Trainer of the Year category.

Sam's passion shines through in her work with clients who may find the gym intimidating, helping them feel welcomed and confident. From supporting post-natal mothers to working with clients recovering from injuries, she creates tailored experiences that meet each person where they are.

We asked Sam to share her thoughts on personal training and what she loves most about her role at Aqualink.

Why I love Aqualink?

The best part of being at Aqualink is the people! From the team I work with to the Members I interact with every day.

Aqualink is a place where people are made to feel valued.

Why I love Personal training?

Some of my PT clients have found it difficult to enter the gym. I enjoy making people feel welcomed to the gym.

Here are some reasons I love my Job as a PT;

  • Actively listening and providing support and guidance around programming
  • Seeing clients lifting heavier weights than they thought possible.
  • Supporting clients who have rehabbed from an injury
  • Mums who need extra support in the post-natal space
  • Working with Allied Professionals to help with PT clients' success in the Gym
  • When my PT client is feeling confident to use the Gym on their ow,n and you write their first Program - This is the best!
  • During the session, having fun along with working hard

Best thing about my Job?

When you see people have worked hard, put in their best effort and succeeded!

It might be more energy to keep up with grandchildren, lift a certain weight, do their first pull-up, recovery from injury, or show up every week to train.

The clients I have the privilege of training is one of the reasons I love coming to work , every day
