Current situation

The Premier announced some modest easing to restrictions from 11.59pm Friday, 17 September. These include:

Outdoor social interaction

Non-vaccinated or single-dose vaccinated: One person may meet another person not from their household for a picnic, a walk, or another outdoor activity for up to four hours.

If all adults present have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine: Up to five adults (plus dependants) from two households will be able to gather outdoors.

Outdoor exercise

Time for exercise increases from 2 hours to 4 hours per day. Two people will now be able to train outdoors with a personal trainer. Skate parks and outdoor communal exercise equipment will reopen.

Travel radius

The distance you can leave home for shopping for necessary goods and services, exercise and outdoor social interaction will increase from 5km to 10km (except construction work).

If you’re yet to be vaccinated, please book your appointment today – either in state-run centres, at your GP or local pharmacy. The best vaccine is the vaccine you can get today. Book online or phone 1800 675 398.

Remember we must:

  • Stay 1.5m apart where possible
  • Maintain hand, sneeze and cough hygiene
  • Keep an eye on exposure sites and follow advice to test and isolate if it affects you
  • Stay at home and get tested if we have any symptoms
  • Wear a mask indoors and outdoors when away from home
  • Adhere to the stay at home curfew from 9pm to 5am

Our community has followed the rules and looked after each other throughout the pandemic.

If we all do our part, we will beat this outbreak too. #WhitehorseStrongerTogether
