Surrey Park Seahorses Masters Swimming Club
Surrey Park Seahorses Masters Swimming Club has been associated with Aqualink Box Hill since the 1990s. The club always welcomes new members and currently has approximately 30 members with ages ranging from their mid-twenties to 60+.
The club caters for all swimmers with competition at state and national level as well as competition at club level. The first Sunday of the month will find Surrey Park members in fierce battle in the aggregate program. Members nominate times for three short swims and points are awarded for swimming nearest to your nominated time.
The aerobic competition is an intra-club and national competition run on all other Sundays and is based on longer swims. Swims range from 400m to 60 minute swims and points are awarded on a sliding scale for swims on the basis of a national standard for each swim at each age group level. The aerobic competition enables members to set their own goals, completing either all or part of the program.
The club holds two training sessions each week on Tuesday night and Thursday night and occasional informal sessions. For further information, brochures are available from the Surrey Park Masters Swimming Club notice board at Aqualink Box Hill. Alternatively, email surreyparkseahorses@gmail.com to be sent a brochure.
