Whitehorse Council is the proud owner of a piece of public art, the Sierra Leone African Butterfly Cichlid fish that graced the Yarra River during the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games.
The fish is mounted on a three metre high pole and positioned in the rear lawn at Aqualink Box Hill.
When you visit our indoor pool, you look out at the sparkling silver and turquoise structure and walk past on the way to the outside pools.
We are proud to have this piece of public art displayed, which has been described as ‘one the best looking’ of all the Commonwealth Games’ fish, at Aqualink Box Hill.
Come visit it soon.
